As part of the hotel’s art experience, Plaza Art Lounge is a recurring concept where different exhibitors are given space in the lounge. Through opening receptions and temporary exhibitions, an environment is created that evolves over time and offers new impressions each month.

About Anders Granberg
A self-taught artist who began my artistic journey as a graffiti artist in Västerås in the late of the 1980s. Since then, my art has developed through a range of different forms of expression – film, sculpture, performance and public art commissions in collaboration with several Swedish municipalities.
My practice is characterised by an exploration of materiality, line and rhythm, and in recent years, drawing has taken on an increasingly central role in my work. The ballpoint pen has become my primary tool: a seemingly everyday material that, through repetition, precision and patience, opens doors to complex visual worlds.

About the exhibition
Anders Granberg’s exhibition Blue Lines is on display at Plaza Art Lounge throughout July.
Since 2021, Anders has been working on this series of images as an ongoing, in-depth exploration of the possibilities of the ballpoint pen. The works move between the figurative and the abstract, but are united by a shared method: the line as a building block, rhythm as the driving force, and time as a central part of the aesthetic.
The series moves between quiet contemplation and intense visual structure, inviting the viewer into an encounter with both richness of detail and stillness. The whole can be seen as a cohesive installation, where the movement of the line is given space to grow between the works, or as a series of standalone pieces, where each work stands on its own.
